Otis College of Art and Design Campus Expansion Wins 2018 Green GOOD DESIGN Award
The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design are pleased to announce that our joint venture project, Otis College of Art and Design Campus Expansion (Los Angeles) with Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney (EYRC) Architects, has won a 2018 Green GOOD DESIGN™ Award.
Architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning projects, product, packaging, and graphic designs from over 20 nations were awarded with Green GOOD DESIGN™ 2018, representing the world’s most important manufacturers and design firms and leading FORTUNE 500 corporations that are forging a new emphasis on a more sustainable design and environment worldwide. This is the 10th year our institutions have developed this very specialized edition of the original GOOD DESIGN program, which was founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames.
Green GOOD DESIGN™ identifies and emphasizes the world’s most important examples of sustainable design and to develop a public awareness program to the general public about which global companies are doing the best job in ecological and sustainable design for our world environments. The original GOOD DESIGN® founded in Chicago in 1950 program remains the oldest and most important Awards Program worldwide.
For the 2018 Green GOOD DESIGN™, hundreds of submissions were received from around the world. Members of The European Centre’s International Advisory Committee—worldwide leaders in the design industry— served as the jury and selected over 100 new products, programs, people, environmental planning, and architecture as outstanding examples of Green Design from 20 nations.
